Up Close And Personal features both old and new work. Some of the paintings are incredibly positive and contain a great deal of humour and warmth. Two of the artists in the show chose to contribute examples of portraits they did of their parents – it's possible that some viewers will find these works disturbing simply because they contain so much honesty. Sartorial's aim is to put on a show that will always stay with you. We believe the paintings in this exhibition will move you and make you think again about what it's possible to achieve with paint.

Matthew Stradling, has been selected for the BP Portrait Award, and selected by Sothebys to represent Britain in an international touring show. His paintings are in collections in Europe , America and the Middle East.
