James Howard - Reputable Campany
(Solo Exhibition)
4 - 25 September, 2009

A 17 foot tall, diamond-collared Chihuahua watches over Argyle Square in King's Cross for the launch of Sartorial Gallery's new outdoor exhibition space. It is the beginning of the latest brash, cross-London poster campaign from artist James Howard. Howard's massive PVC banners, depicting cut price diamonds for Chihuahuas can also be seen in the main lobby of London's Barbican Centre this month for The Free Art Fair.

These lurid, digitally enhanced works make up part of a larger social commentary, often saccharine-sweet, delivered with a forked tongue.

James Howard was born in 1981 in Canterbury . He studied at the University of Reading and The Royal Academy Schools, London . James Howard is included in the forthcoming Saatchi Gallery show: “The Power of Paper” and has been recently exhibited at “Plastic Culture The Legacy of Pop” with Andy Warhol, Jeff Koons and Takeshi Murakami.
